Yipee, Frodo's back home. Mum bought him a new bed just celebrate his return home. I don't think he likes it too much. It looks like a complete house instead of just a bed. He tried to get out as soon as he was inside. Oh no, I think he's trapped inside. I think I must set him free. I'll just undo the zip and he'll be out in flash, and I can get to the liverbread inside his new house. Hmmm, why is he calling me Scofield? He's even stranger than before he went off on his little vacation. It's been quite lonely while Frodo's been confined to his new house, although it is starting to look more like a dungeon rather than a castle. I've stopped the tunnel project for a few days now, but I'll resume when Frodo resumes active duty again.
He seems to think I have been watching something called "Prison Break", but I've been watching some really scary movies on the TCM channel. A few weeks ago I saw the Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". That movie scared the daylights out of me. I don't think mum and dad saw it yet, so once again it is up to me to have to protect the household while Frodo sleeps his day away. I wish they would take these avian attacks a bit more seriously.
On another note, I managed to get the better of mum's killer sandals. I saw them one night in the lounge and attacked as soon as I got my chance. We fought an epic battle through the night, but I finally landed the fatal blow and that was the end of the pair of sandals. Of course a victory bark was in order. Dad finally gets out of bed mumbling something about waking up at 3:30am. I could sense his excitement at my success as he immediately took me outside to play, but I was not really in the mood to run around outside at that hour of the morning, so I just casually strolled back to my bed. He looked so disappointed. I was still so pumped up from my victory the next morning that I couldn't even eat breakfast.
Oh, before I sign off, one last piece of news: It seems like Frodo's drug problem may be somewhat under control now. He hardly pops any pills these days. He seems to look much better recently too. Even his attention span has increased again.
I hope he is going to join us on our walks again soon. It's a bit more exciting chasing rabbits around when Frodo is there to cheer me on.

The Great Tunnel Project

I always told Frodo that there was evil lurking in this yard. "Nonsense!!" he would say. "Rubbish," and then fall asleep in the same spot every day. How could he sleep through all this. Lucky I was here to protect him through the day while he napped.
Every few hours I would spot some movement and have to bark. Frodo would wake up and grunt "You go get em Sir Wag. I got your back," before falling asleep again. I knew that if I was loud enough, the German Shepherd next door would go ballistic and scare them away. I had to take action. We needed a backup plan. An escape route of sorts. I wish he would help me dig that tunnel we planned, instead of running after that silly ball of his. Every now and then he would humour me and help with the tunnel, but he would lose interest in the dig very quickly. Then start a new dig somewhere else. Maybe that was not such a bad thing after all. All those random little holes in the yard are just a decoy. They will never find the real tunnel amidst all those little holes.
We have not yet finished the tunnel, and Frodo's disappeared. I know that I am next. They never going to get me. Maybe they will not want me if I am not fat enough. Of course, Frodo did put on a bit of weight these last few days. That's why they picked him. I will not allow myself to suffer the same fate. I must only eat enough so that I don't faint during the day while I am alone.
At least now uncle Bob has come to spend a few days with us. He looks like he took a bit of a beating on his behind. I will have to take care of him, but he knows how to open the door and let me in. I got to keep myself in his good books. He let's me into the house every day. I know it's only because he's scared to stay here alone. I must protect him from the same fate that Frodo suffered.
It's really nice having him here though. I keep him company while he naps through the day, much like I used to do with Frodo. Maybe I can get Uncle Bob to help with the tunnel project. He looks like he could do with some fresh air.
He's awake now. Got to go and check on him. Maybe in a few days with his help I'll post a picture of our completed tunnel.
